Now in it's 10th year, the Fabulous Places market, which happens 3 times a year: Spring, Summer and Christmas, is an unmissable event for lovers of unique hand-made products, homewares, crafts and scrummy food!
This year, the Summer Market will be taking place on Sunday 30th June from 10am - 4pm (entry just £2) and is host to over 100 amazing stallholders and I'm delighted to say that I will be at The Curious Pancake stand there again this year!
I first joined the Fabulous Places fair in the summer of 2017. It was a very sad year for me as my mum had suddenly passed away. When I heard that I'd got a place at the market, a big part of me wanted to turn it down as I still didn't feel ready to wear my 'public' face, but deep down I was excited to have the opportunity to do a fair outside of Nottingham and I thought I needed to push myself to at least have a go. I also heard my mum in my head say "don't be daft, bloody go and do it!" so along I went, and have been lucky to have attended the fairs ever since!
The environment at the fair is so warm and friendly, none more so than in summer, with the glorious sunshine streaming down through the rafters and the halls packed with flowers and summery smells.
I have enjoyed honing my little pop up store at these events over the years but after sticking with the same "look" for the past couple of years, I think I'm ready to try something new. At the moment though, it's just a case of finding the time and skills to knock up something as good as my current set-up! I always get "stall-envy" at Fabulous Places, it's really awesome seeing how people display their wares, and I'm always inspired for the next event to try something a little differently.
